My 100th Post!

When I popped in here to blog, as I haven't in a month, not only was I ashamed to see that its been a month since I last blogged, but that this is also my 100th post! Wow!

I do have some things to share with you today. I have been knitting furiously on my next upcoming eBook, Sexy Spines Vol.2, and cant really share anything now. Things are too far along and you'll all just have to wait. The first shawl is done and pics have been taken for the pattern. The cover shoot for the eBook has also been done. So for now, I have new yarn and another shawl that I finished, not my pattern, that I can share with you. The shawl that I finished is called "Cat Among the Seabirds" and is available on Ravelry here. It was a quick knit. Its actually been done for a long time, I just hadn't blocked it yet. Audrey Grace was so helpful in the blocking process as you can see...

The yarn was given to me by Dilshani. It is Wolle's Color Changing Cotton and was wonderful to work with. I was curious as to how it would block but it did well!

Isn't it a lovely little thang?! I am really happy with it. Its more delicate than I thought it would be. I have an outfit that will match it perfectly for the opening of Santa Fe's Opera Season which is this Wednesday evening. Cannot wait!

I want to introduce y'all to my friend Adella Colvin who is an amazing indie dyer with a shop on Etsy. She custom dyed some yarn for me which apparently has turned out to be one of her most popular colorways! You can find her Etsy Shop here. Let me show you what she did for me....

The colorway is called 'Down By The Bayou' and I am in love with it! I had to cast it on, even though I have the eBook I am working on. I only knit on it at night when I'm getting ready for bed. Its so pretty....

See?! That knitting project bag in the background?! More about that in a bit....

See? SEE?! Oh my God its so pretty. The Yarn is 100% superwash with a great twist to the yarn. Its a heavier fingering weight and I am knitting it on size 8's to make my first one skein wonder shawl! I had been wanting to do that for some time now.

Here is a skein that Adella dyed called 'Olive Oil,' and as soon as I saw it I had to have it. I made it so....

The knitting project bags are from Miss Vicky of That Clever Clementine, also of Etsy. I have 3 of them now. I wanted on for each shawl project of the new eBook. Here they are....

...and I just saw another one in her shop that I want so I may order another one. They are truly addicting. They are fully lined and stand up on their own. They are WONDERFUL!!! Thanks Miss Vicky, as always!

Other good news, a great way to celebrate my 100th post, I now have my own pattern book at my LYS, Village Wools! Mom and I went there on one of our normal, every week Tuesdays to knit and there it was.....

It was on the shelf with all the other pattern books when I noticed it! I was so excited!!!

That's some progress, right?! LOL...

Audrey Grace is doing very well! She now has a track ball toy that she LOVES. It has a compartment on top of it for catnip too!

I still have no laptop which is probably why its so long in between posts. I will try to do better at posting and letting you all know how things are going. I hope you all are doing well and knitting your way through this hot hot summer! Until next time....Knit On!

  2. I never get tired of seeing the many, many ways cats help their humans block knitting!

And I'm so glad you are enjoying your bags, thanks again.
